These pictures were taken on our trip to Epcot. Not much has changed in the last 16 years. The only things that I did not remember were the Living Sea and Test Track exhibits. Even Spaceship Earth was unchanged! Lets start with the big golf ball! The stuff on the left hand side of it wasn't there when I was here last. My wife tells me that they added that for the year 2000.
Same photo, but taken at night when the ball was lit up. I took this on the way out of the park. By this time we were tired from walking all day long.
This is the World of Imagination. We saw the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" 3D movie here. We also went on a ride in here. Apparently, they used to have a purple dinosaur as the mascot for this section, but there was no sign of him on any of the rides. The only remains of him were the stuffed animals they were selling.
Ahh, my favorite when I was a little kid. This was the jumping water. It would jump from one circle to the next and it would hop over to the other sides as well. This was very cool and still is.
The monorail goes right through the middle of the park.
Here is a night shot of the waterfalls by the World of Imagination.
The Test Track is a new ride, well, new for me at least. You are loaded into a vehicle and then subjected to a series of tests that manufacturers run on their cars such as cornering ability, hill climb, speed, and braking. It was a fun ride.
If you look closely, you can see one of the cars on the high speed portion of the test track.
The Universe of Energy has undergone a few changes. One of which is that they added the annoying Ellen Degeneres (sp?) to the movie. Other than that, the audience is taken through an adventure with dinosaurs and the beginnings of fossil fuels (of course, its sponsored by Exxon.)
This poor guy was run over by a motor boat. He is on exhibit in the Living Sea. You can see the hole taken out of his tail.
The countries were much more interesting to me this time as opposed to when I was 9 years old. Here is a shot of Japan. We ate at the Japanese steak house where they cook in front of you.
While walking through the countries we came across a bus full of Disney characters including Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and others.
I like Aztec/Mayan-type architectures so I snapped this photo.
