These pictures were taken on our visit to Quebec City on New Years 2000. We headed North with my wife's cousin for the New Year. It was lots of fun, but very very cold.

Everyone tells me that this first picture reminds them of a postcard especially when its printed out. This is the hotel where we stayed for our visit. It was called the Chateau Frontenac.

Here is another view of the Chateau.

And here is yet another view of the Chateau.

I thought this was an interesting angle. It was taken from my wife's cousin's room looking down from her suite.

Yup, its another picture of the Chateau. I was experimenting with different angles.

Here is the outdoor skating rink at the hotel. We never got around to testing it out because we were always running from the cold. Some days the windchill hit -30F.

This was really cool! Its a toboggan run!! That structure is made of solid ice. You can't really see the start of the run (thats in the next picture), but it was definitely lots of fun. For a 1$, you can ride down.

Here is the start of the toboggan run. Like I said earlier, it was a lot of fun and it was fast!! You have to be careful and make sure you keep all of your hands and feet inside so you don't get an ice burn!!

What can I say? There's a lot of ice up there and they need to do something with it! Here is a picture of a little fortress that was made. Apparently, they even have an entire hotel made of ice!!

Here's a different shot of the fortress looking out to the cannons and the tobaggan run.

I don't know what this is, but I took this from our hotel room through a window.

Lastly, here's another picture taken from my wife's cousin's room. This is a great shot of the river (which has lots of ice in it) and the toboggan run.
