These pictures were taken on our visit to Universal Studios. This was my favorite theme park (probably cuz I like the movies so much.) The rides here were not the typical theme park rides but were more like movie sets which made it much more interesting. This is the entrance to Universal Studios. I took this on the way out which is why its dark out. I have the original that I took when we first walked in below, but I like the colors in this picture so I decided to place it first.
Unfortunately, my finger wasn't quick enough to capture the entire "Universal" as it rotated. Oh well, I just wasn't patient enough to wait for it to revolve to take a second shot.
Here's the entrance again in daylight. I took this as we entered the park in the morning.
The Terminator 3D movie/ride was great! This is by far the best 3D movie I've ever seen. Its hard to describe but it mixes reality with the movie. Lots of fun.
Everyone always talks about the Back to the Future ride and now I know why. This is a great ride, even if it is several years old. Its one of those that can actually make you feel sick cuz they move your seat in sync with the action on screen.
We missed this water show. Its supposed to be some sort of stunt show.
Here's a shot of downtown Universal. Something about this picture appealed to me for some reason. I think its the line of palm trees on both sides of the street that fade in the distance along with the color of the sky.
This picture was taken at a "Kodak Picture Spot". They have these picture spots throughout the parks. These have been selected by professionals that know how to take pictures (unlike me.)
Earthquake is a very cool ride too. They simulate an 8.2 earthquake for you while you are underground in a subway station. Needless to say, the car shook a lot, things exploded, and water gushed throughout the station. Overall, very cool.
Here's a picture of Jaws. The Jaws ride was a lot of fun as well. They stick you on a boat and then Jaws pops out of the water a few times, the guide shoots him, things explode, and Jaws dies in the end. Its was fun.
If you've ever seen the movie Waterworld with Kevin Costner, then you'll recognize this trimaran.
Here is a picture of the new MIB (Men In Black) ride. Its essentially a big arcade game where you go shooting aliens with a laser zapper while being driven around a town. It even keeps score for you.
Just another street in Universal as the sun was setting and the buildings started to light up. We had just finished the King Kong ride at this point.
The Twister ride was lots of fun. They actually simulate a tornado in a studio for you. Again, things explode, winds roar, water falls on you, and everything shakes.
Lastly, Mel's all lit up at night as we head home from our long day at Universal.
